I’ve been having one crazy busy year in the life of Adam Shane Photography!
With a few advertising clients, unit still photography and promo shots for a sci-fi short film, producing my first music video, large concert and festival coverage, several out-of-state and international jobs, a few great new clients and finishing construction on my studio space right off the Las Vegas Strip…. there hasn’t been much time to update this blog or my portfolio.
I do apologize about the lack of news, and have set aside time to catch up on sharing all the great new photos I’ve been accumulating since 2012. I’m currently chipping away at my ridiculously large portfolio of favorite images, and I hope to release a new online portfolio by this weekend. Stay tuned to see some really cool new work =)
In the meantime, I have been re-posting my more social-media active client’s posts on my Facebook fan page… head on over to http://www.facebook.com/ashanephoto to check it out.
Verbicide just published a gallery with a few of my shots from the Deftones concert. You can view it here.
I was hired to shoot the Monster Jam Finals for the second time this year. It was back in March, but my ears are still ringing… gotta remember to bring earplugs next year.
Shot Flogging Molly for the Thomas & Mack Center back around St. Patty's day… yeah, I know that was about 6 months ago, and I'm just getting to posting them now… but it's been a busy year. Anyways, here are a few shots… better late than never
About a month before the Olympic Games, I shot an exhibition match with the USA All Star Team vs. Puerto Rico.
The recent soccer game of Real Madrid vs. Santos Laguna was a lot of fun to shoot. In addition to the regular excitement of having field credentials, I was hit by a soccer ball twice throughout the game! I only managed to catch one on camera before protecting it from the incoming projectile:
I'm constantly amazed by the variety of photo work I get to shoot. From ad campaigns to major events, there is always something interesting on the horizon. One of my favorite recent shoots was the Sergio Martinez vs. Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. fight last weekend. I had ringside photo credentials for the sold out event, and it was an intense experience. Aside from ringing ears from the deafening roar of the crowd and blood splatter on my arms, I also came home with a ton of great photos. Here are a few of my favorites:
We had an amazing sunset lightning storm today in Vegas. Fortunately, it was an admin day so I was home to catch it!!
This web-sized image is a drastically reduced and JPG compressed taste of the 36MP long exposure crispness that I'm able to enjoy on the big monitor at home. I'm not typically in the business of selling prints, but this one deserves to be printed! I'm thinking about running off a limited edition at 36" on pearl. Anybody interested?
Since they'll probably never be seen anywhere else, here are ad couple random behind-the-scenes shots from the World Football Challenge 2012 at Sam Boyd Stadium this month.
While this may be old news for some of you, it was quite some time before I started this blog.
A few years ago, The Ashmolean Museum of Art & Archaeology at the University of Oxford, England, licensed one of my prints for their Gallery of Eastern Art. You can see the 9'x3' 300dpi print hanging on the red wall. It is a segment of a larger HDR panorama from a series I shot in 2007 at the Huang Shan (Yellow Mountain) range in Anhui, China.
It will be displayed until at least 2019, so if you happen to be in Oxford, please stop in to check it out!
